What Ruwad Connect is
What is Ruwad Connect?
Ruwad Connect is a desktop time tracker for Windows with a web workspace behind it. The tracker records time, screenshots, breaks and idle time while a person is punched in on a project and a task. In the workspace, a manager approves the hours, and the approved hours become payroll runs, payslips, invoices and receipts.
Who is it for?
Teams that pay people or bill clients by the hour: agencies, remote and hybrid teams, and companies that run several entities from one sign-in.
Which platforms does the tracker run on?
Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. There is no macOS build yet. The web workspace works in any modern browser.
Does it work without the desktop app?
The web workspace works on its own for projects, approvals, payroll and invoices, and time can be logged on a task by hand. Screenshots, webcam checks and idle detection need the desktop tracker, because they happen on the computer where the work is done.
Who builds it?
AVMDEVS LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Colorado, United States, with its office in Sherman Oaks, California and teams in Beirut, Dubai and Jeddah.

Tracking and screenshots
When are screenshots taken?
Only while a person is punched in. A break or a punch out stops the timer, and a stopped timer captures nothing.
How many screenshots an hour?
It depends on the plan: Free takes one an hour, Starter twelve, and Professional and Enterprise up to 30, the tracker's densest cadence. The desktop reads the cadence from the server and cannot raise it.
Are all monitors captured?
Yes. Each capture records which monitor it came from, the activity level around it and the application that was on screen.
Can screenshots be blurred?
Yes. Blur is a workspace setting: each tracker reads it from the server and blurs the screenshot on the computer before uploading it, and the server blurs every capture it stores while the setting is on, so a reviewer sees the shape of the work and not the text on screen.
What happens when someone walks away from the keyboard?
The tracker notices the idle time and asks what happened when they return. They can keep the time or leave it out. An exclusion is recorded on the server against the entry, so approvals, payroll and invoices all read the corrected hours.
Does the tracker log keystrokes?
No. The activity level is a count of keyboard and mouse input, not a record of what was typed.
What does AI analysis add?
On Starter and above, each screenshot gets a short description, a category such as coding, design or meeting, and a flag when it looks off-task. A daily summary rolls them up.

Consent and privacy
Do people consent before anything is recorded?
Yes. The first launch shows each person what the workspace records and asks for consent. Nothing is captured until they accept, and the version they accepted is checked by the server.
Can people see what is recorded about them?
Yes. A person can open their own Captures page in the web workspace.
Do clients see screenshots?
Never. Clients do not sign in to Ruwad Connect. They receive the invoices and receipts built from approved hours, by email, and no capture or timesheet is sent to them.
How do webcam checks work?
They are off by default. When a workspace turns them on, the tracker asks for a webcam check at random moments inside the working hours the workspace sets. A person can skip one with a reason, and admins review every check on the Verifications page. Starter allows 2 a day, Professional 6, Enterprise unlimited.
Where are captures stored?
In private object storage. Every read goes through a short-lived signed link, so a capture cannot be opened by someone outside the workspace from a shared URL.
How long is data kept?
By plan: Free 30 days, Starter 365 days, Professional and Enterprise without limit.

Approvals, projects and time
What does approving an entry do?
It updates the task's actual hours and the project's budget straight away, and makes the hours available to payroll and invoicing. Rejecting an approved entry takes the hours back out.
Can several entries be approved at once?
Yes. On the Timesheets page, select the entries and use Approve selected.
Can time be logged without the tracker?
Yes. Open a task in the projects app and log time from its Time tab, or start a timer there. Manual entries are pending until a manager approves them.
What project views are there?
Board, list, backlog, sprints, calendar, Gantt, timeline and milestones, with task approvals, docs and dependencies on each project.
Can I see who is working right now?
Yes. The Live page lists everyone punched in with the project and task they are on, how long they have been on it and their activity level.

Payroll and invoicing
How is payroll computed?
Generate from hours builds a run for a period from each member's approved hours times the rate set on their membership, with overtime. The run is approved, then marked paid, and each person gets a payslip PDF.
How are invoices generated?
Generate from time builds an invoice for a client and project from approved billable hours at the project's billing rate. Download the PDF or email it from the app; marking it paid issues a receipt PDF.
Which exports exist?
CSV, XLSX and JSON of any report by member or by project, plus CSV files laid out for importing into ClickUp and Zoho Projects.
Does it connect to QuickBooks?
Yes. Connect a QuickBooks Online company from Integrations and push customers and invoices to it.

People, clients and workspaces
How do people join a workspace?
An admin invites them by email with a role. They accept, install the tracker, sign in with that account and appear in Members. The plan's seat count is checked on every invitation.
Where do clients fit in?
Add each client you bill and give their projects a billing rate. Invoices are generated from the approved billable hours on those projects and emailed from the app, with a receipt once paid. Clients do not sign in and never see captures.
Can one person belong to several workspaces?
Yes. One sign-in can own or belong to several companies, switch between them on the web, and hold a different role in each. The desktop asks which workspace to work for.

Plans and billing
What does the Free plan include?
Everything the product does, for ten people and three projects, with one screenshot an hour and 30 days of data. It has no charge and no end date.
What changes between plans?
The limits: how many people and projects, how many screenshots an hour, how many webcam checks a day, how long data is kept, and whether AI analysis is included. The product is the same on every plan.
How is a paid plan charged?
Per user, monthly or yearly, by card through Stripe. Ruwad Connect does not store card numbers. Paid plans can start with a trial at checkout.
Can we change plans later?
Yes, from the billing page in the web workspace. Limits are enforced by the server, so a change takes effect on the next capture and the next invitation.
Is there an Enterprise plan?
Yes, for fifty people or more. It sets no plan limit on webcam checks or retention, captures screenshots at up to 30 an hour (the tracker's densest cadence), and is priced on request.

Installing and rolling out
What does the installer need?
Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. There is an .exe installer for a single account and an .msi package for IT-managed rollouts that installs once for every user on the machine.
Does the tracker update itself?
On Windows, the app checks for a new version shortly after it starts and every four hours and offers it in the app; the MSI is updated by IT.
What does an employee see on first launch?
The consent screen listing what the workspace records, then the project and task pickers and the timer.
What should we decide before rolling it out?
The capture cadence, whether blur is on, and whether webcam checks are on. Those decisions are on the consent screen everyone sees, so settle them before inviting anyone.
Still have one?
Write to the team that builds it, or start on the Free plan and find out in an afternoon.
